EmiratesMac.com on Dubai Eye

Earlier this evening I was on Dubai Eye 103.8 Nightline show talking about social networking (topic was whether it makes us less social or not). EmiratesMac.com was mentioned and discussed quite a bit as an example of an online community, or tribe if you like, where people join in to help each other out with various issues. Quite a bit of Apple and tech stuff also came up as it happens.

Great! Hey you know something. A good way to promote Emiratesmac would be bumper stickers that you can get printed and hand over at our meetings.
I find it really effective as there were several occasions where i saw people putting bumper stickers on their car and it just made me go and check it out even though i didnt know what it was all about.

Social sites like myspace make you a web zombie. you start to think that is life and stop living life. A forum like EM is cool as a get together place for a focused topic, Macs. I depends I guess.

I have an Apple sticker smack in the middle of my rear window.
Nobody has said anything about it.

Sometimes I get people honking crazy at me, but I laugh as I watch them restart their cars.

Magnus what are you talking about!!?? more than 1/4th the cars in the UAE have bumper stickers on the cars. I have that apple logo stuck on my car which came in with the iphone lol..yea loyal..or atleast in the process.

Yea Magnus you should have told us in advance...now you will have to go travel back in time..5minutes before you get on radio make a post about it...

I heard the whole thing.
Of course, their live stream is not Mac compatible, so I booted Windows.
As Magnus started to talk, it decided to restart.

I was surprised this lady knew about the Genius Bar.
But I think whoever asks that question is NOT a geek.
A geek wouldn't have a social life to begin with, so social networking can only improve it.

Three months back when renewed my car registration, I was told to remove my Apple logo off the back of my car, they said it is a new law. They passed at the end without removing the sticker!
