But according to the pricing plans for 8gb...it starts from free...but i dint understand; suppose if these phones are unlocked and i go for the free package (basic package for 8gb), that means even though i get the device for free...is it necessary to pay for the data package after the 1st month?? that is we buy the phone for free and also pay 643 dhs for first month and after the first month gets over we dont pay 643dhs anymore for the rest of the 11 months each. hope your getting my point.

just called Etisalat. according to the guy the launch is next week. The phones are definately locked according to him and also existing data package cannot be used by unlocked iphone 3G.
i guess thats why i cannot acess the data plan which i subscried to.
any comments

You can do it but once you dont start paying monthy you will be blacklisted and the next time you try to enter the country you would be caught. Think twice buddy before doing it.

many people have already planned to leave this country by this summer and they might take advantage of this...if they plan not to ever enter this country back!

Or else etislalat will make sure that such acts are not carried away by people thru some terms and conditions!

i hope so but honestly i doubt its comming out tomorrow. its bad news for existing iphone users cause if we need to use data. we have to go to etisalat have our devices and further they would lock in the data settings.

is it me or those prices are extremely high?

the lowest plan is 200 dhs but should get the "locked" phone for 2600 first?
