to all the people here, who are confused how much bandwith they consume in a month or which package of iphone they should choose

    my suggestion

    1) download this software NetMeter for your PC, you can monitor and see how much KB , MB, GB you are using in real time
Download link : Download NetMeter 1.1.4 Beta 4 / 1.1.3 - A handy network software that will monitor your bandwidth - Softpedia

    2) Use this software on your PC for 1 month , you will have an idea how much your actual consumption is

    3) Another good idea is to open your favourite website and see in real time , how much bandwitch opening that website consumes

    4) add bandwitch of all your favourite website by opening one by one, you will have an approximate estimation about your bandwitch consumption and then choose your iphone package accordingly

    5) this software tracks bandwith for your enite internet use. Chat , Audi, Video, website browsing. etc ec

Hope this helps and we have a clear picture which package of iphone will best suit us

And since this is an Apple User Group web site, what can we use on a Mac?

Activity Monitor could be used for that. Not as fancy but you could run that for a day or two and get an idea. It's right in your Uitilities folder.

    I agree.
Streaming online radio would be a great thing.
Especially since I rarely play anything thats not my iPhone in the car.
And yes, it would eat up your bandwidth.

But your also forgetting it would also eat up your battery.

Isn't that what the battery is for?

    You lost me there, bro.

My point was that the battery is weak to start with.
And you don't have the option to swap it with a second one.
Which leaves you with 1) continuously recharging or an 2) external battery.
    I don't like either option.

1 wears out the battery faster, 2 is huge, and another expense.

    It depends on your usage.
If you use it for calls its not that bad.
But if you use the screen for long periods of time, as well as the wifi or 3G, you won't have much left.

On average, I charge it every other day.
    I have the 2G.

But the battery can be worn out in a few hours if you use it extensively.
