Unfortunate to hear. I think his problem is with the aluminum. A problem metal casings have is that they don't scratch, they dent. So what might be a mild abrasion on a plastic case ends up being a drastic ding. But the MBP itself is a VERY robust machine. But in the end, all notebooks need some care (with the exception of the Panasonic ToughBook). MBPs are heavy, yes. Especially if you go for a 17". And if you had an MBA, then nothing will seem portable. But generally speaking, if you don't need the extra power I prefer to steer away.

I think his problem is he's a caveman who has mistaken a computer for a club. You play rough with anything and sooner or later bad things happen. Plus, what kind of klutz gets a drink all over hi laptop?

Gasp! I didnt say anything out there. Its true. he's spilling coffee on the poor thing, and as far as Im concerned being way too rough with his machines. Of course they arent going to last. Panasonic makes a laptop made for like coal mine engineers, its incased in a huge rubber/metal frame. maybe thats what he needs?

Caveman I don't know, I just don't think MacUsers are making a bad name for themselves, Coffee on your keyboard is not a practice, you know, something that happens, an Accident. In short, it's about mobility, the Pro is just softer than I expected compared to the MacBook, each comes with its own cons/pros so no comparison. But when it comes to use of the machines Mobile users like me who commute many hours a day, I guess they'd find it hard to get used to the Pro. Caveman, lol, still getting me laughs. But then again this might be a very rare case, since I like many other people started my journey with IBM-T series, brutal and tough. So MacBook sounded soft to me in the beginning but then it proved how hard and reliable it was, Pro is hard but since it is heavy and wide, it is easier for it to get damaged, hence, when I say you need to take more care of it.
