Have you never seen Star Trek?!
Its a shield that is invisible.
Its much better than the visible shields, since those block you windshields, and you end up rear ending the star cruiser in front of you.
Which in turn puts a load on your warp drive, possibly leading to a dilithium leakage.
Very messy stuff.
Environmentalists and Klingons will eat you alive.
