The fact is Apple's success in regards to stability are because it is locked down.
The iPhone maybe too locked.
I'm hoping the SDK will solve that, though I'm not too happy with some of the restrictions (no TSR and no port access).

But the scary thing about that article is how inaccurate it is.
How does that get published?
It isn't enough that stories everywhere are prone to censorship and media control (many times by the media itself), nor is the fact that we simply don't know enough.
But a scenario where everything is known can contain so many mistakes.
All it takes is some research!! Maybe 15 mins worth!!

It comes to show how sorry journalism is and that anybody can publish anything and get away with it.
I agree Fang. One of the reasons that Apple's stability (across the board) is that they have uniform hardware which is awesome. Its not like windows: which is run on all kinds of platforms!

The SDK is just another way of ensuring that the iphone remains stable. By only having one update mechanism - itunes apple can control the apps, that go on to it. It is an awesome move.

You are right Dan.
Most people that criticize Apple, do so based on its pre-OSX days.
However, there is lots criticism that is very much correct.
Yet, we as Apple users not only accept & tolerate it, but defend it.

Though the Mac is the better platform, it is not perfect.
But we defend it if it were.

The iPhone, for example, is riddeled with missing features.
But we still use it.

And I couldn't care less.
