Digital Marketing 2008 is a conference organized by AMEInfo March 24-27 2008. On the second day of the conference program, at 10am, I'll be presenting our work with EmiratesMac.com and our User Group, under the title "USING WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO DEVELOP YOUR SITE". The short blurb about the session reads "Interactive, sticky, dynamic, functional or all of the above? What do your customers really want and how can you be sure they’ll use your site?
• The organic development of EMIRATESMAC: What did our customers want and how we created it
• Keeping it simple and developing according to your customers needs
• Using Web 2.0 solutions: the challenges of monitoring "
Sounds interesting? We hope so and we hope to put KeyNote to good useSeriously though this is a good opportunity to spread word about what we do and give out some more Shuffles.
If anyone happens to be at Digital Marketing, be sure to stop by.

I don't think I can do streaming, but here's my presentation as a Quicktime file.

Here are some photos from the event, unfortunately not from us giving the presentation though.
I'd like to add a thank you to AMEInfo for inviting us to be a part of Digital Marketing 2008. I think we presented a different perspective than most other presenters in that we represent actual users/customers. Our basic premise of the presentation was that companies should interact with their market more than they are through channels like EmiratesMac.com. We'd love to see more businesses be active on the site, not in terms of immediately pushing their products, but to interact with the community, and by doing so in the long run build a better name and make more money.

KeyNote, of courseI could perhaps add audio at some point, but I'd redo the slides then I think. What happened was that because of some things that were raised in the presentation before me, I changed direction a bit, talking more generally about communities, why marketing people should be interested in them, why they should convince their clients to be interested, how they should approach it, what problems may occur, etc.
I'm always willing to listen to new ideas![]()

I have never been to an EMUG meeting- for lack of time, its in my 'perennial' to do list. The thing is not just do I miss such exciting presentations, but I also miss meeting people who have been on the mac scene for long.
Maybe one day I will be able to do a KeyNote presentation on how I went from thinking that Apple was just a fruit to learning about Apple the technology company, the cult of Steve Jobs (thanks to a wonderful movie called 'The Pirates of Silicon Valley'.), to an admirer of Apple products to an user of wonderful Apple products
