    Arabic-friendly iPhone primed for launch

Talal Malik writes for ITP that "a Saudi software developer has said he is more than half way done with a project that would give Arabic-language support to the hyped phone."

The article says that "Yusuf Omar, a network consultant in Jeddah, told Arab News he and his team have nearly completed 60% of a project which would provide Arabic-language support." The project " also "allows the iPhone to use Unicode and Windows' own language support for Arabic script."

"SaudiMac It looks promising. Can't wait for UNICODE at last (why didn't you include UNICODE, Apple?) "

i will tell you why!!!! very simple answer... BECAUSE... the iPhone is not ment for you... or for any other arab dude that likes the phone.. so deal with it you guys... every one is complaining and naging that there is no Arabic suport... dude... it makes all the sence in the world noooot to have arabic... first it is only sold in the US... so why should there be arabic? second it is not ment for the rest of the world, therefore there is no need for Arabic... Third Arabic will just take more space in the little mini OS on the iPhone.. and we need that space for more music and pics and videos rather than a language that is not ment for there people... if you know what i mean... once Apple feels like the Arab world is a target or is a good time to give them the phone, only then will they think about adding arabic support... so for now, dream on everyone, NO ARABIC, and thats that enjoy the American iPhone i am an Arab and i am proud to be one, but to be honest, i can live without Arabic msgs and trade it off anytime for an ipHONE... ooooo i got another option, for those who want an iPhone but arent good at English, well its about time you get to study and learn the primery language on this planet... Arabic is our language yes, i understand, but face it, reality says ENGLISH is the domenent one now, so you need it to survive everything these days...

cause Japanese is a bit more important than arabic too... sorry dude, the arabic language to them is not that important and % of people that needed and use it are nothing compared to the rest of the languages, u have to keep that in mind too... even for work arabic is not a language you usually communicate with.,.. its always English... and Japanese is the country that makes alot of cool toys that you play with, so if Americans are able to satisfy Japanese, then Japanese will satisfy us all... and thats how the cycle of business and life goes along
