Well said, exactly it's not for everyone but it still a nice phone if you just want a bit of browsing and music and regular calls. Power users and serious phone freaks or gamers wont be happy

Although i'd like to be a little wary about such news, i believe that there is a possibility of this happening. Its a known fact that Apple intends to unveil V2.0 of the iPhone at MacWorld in Jan 08. Once they do this, they will probably release the unlocked V1.0 to the rest of the world and keep V2.0 for contracts ONLY.

They aren't stupid, thats for sure!

    Ok. First things first-

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I am not really worried about thngs such as 'Send to many' options (which I use a hell lot) and things like flash etc, as I believe that Apple will rectify all that via software updates

No 3g. That is sad coz' if I will probably be using this phone for quite some time Can't wait for a later version either I expected them to launch a 3g version as there were quite a few rumors that the iPhone will be 3g in Europe.. So I thought, why not Dubai? Grrr.. Looks like the rumors were well - rumors.

    Oh but still

    Wooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooo oooooooooooo.

**Sings- It is a beautiful world**

Meanwhile starting to save up. **Looks under the couch for some change. Then cries like a baby; for there is none**

Well further to Magnus's source- NDTV,a major Indian English news channel in a program called 'Gadget Guru' reported (in passing) that the iPhone would be officially released in January.

    It was something like this:

"We will get our hands on the iPhone only in January 2008 when it's going to be released officially. Only then can we compare it to the new HTC Touch..."

My friend told me that this was aired yesterday and actually did not believe this. Though of course the reporter may have had his sources too. The news channel's website surprisingly does not have any news article (none that I could look up) on the release date of iPhone (which is getting a lot of media attention there too)

I wonder if the phone launching in Asia was reported by any major Mac sites and that I somehow missed it completely?

I guess we have to wait ... for few things ...

    Apple take notice :-

    1- 3G
    2- Arabic support
3- open for any service provider
    4- optional stylus
    5- GPS would be nice
6- mending the faults ... (that are sure to appear)

    all the best ..
