As cool as i find this new Canon G10:

COOLPIX P6000 from Nikon

Anyone seen them in Dubai yet?

I have the G9 and the P6000.

I know the g10 is a complete rebuild - new lens, new sendor, but if I was to choose I would take the P6000. It is smaller, the picture quality is excellent. THe P6000 is also much lighter, and that is important in a pocket camera.

LAN and GPS are not such a big deal I found.

The G10 and the P6000 are both available in Dubai, try Sharaf.

Personally I would suggest you check the Canon D10 over the G10 - I don't think it shoots RAW, but it's waterproof - fun in the sea and pool! And it's nearly half the price.

You should check DPReview before you buy a camera

imo, G10 had better sensor performance, but p6000 has a better lens - sharper in the corners. Plus p6000 does what being a pocket camera should very well, fitting in your pocket!
