Wow. There were so many hopes based on that.
Weird that they would drop it.
Maybe it wasn't feasible to continue to support it.
So. I have saved up some cash and I was going to be investing some $1,200 in a Hackintosh. I had every lined up and i was going to build a "best of breed" Hackintosh using parts from NewEgg.com inclusive of the Intel 7i chipset.
EFI - Have a USB based dongle which will allow you to install OS X staight onto your Hackintosh INtel Based hardware by making sure the boot option is set to USB first. You can auto pull updates and it seemed like a dream come true for the Hackintosh Community.
However if you take a look at the post on TomsHardware (see link below) it appears that the chips are cheap, nasty, over priced and a complete rip off off of Chameleon, even down to the source code. All the board admins have left, and there are thousands of complaints about the chip just "dying" and no longer working.
So for you who are looking at entering the Hackintosh Market using EFI then don't.

It is not that they dropped it. It looks like their chips were less than stellar with lots of people complaining about them 'burning out'. It also looks like their product was a rip off of Chameleon, and when I say rip off, I mean they physically stole code and did no real coding at all.

Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.
