Need to pay for and pick up an item from Tadcaster road york UK and get to dubai..

I found something for sale in york uk. and as its not available here in dubai, would like to purchase it and get it here somehow.

I need to pay the seller on pick up of the items and get it delivered to me here in dubai. Either via some company or through someone who is traveling in the next few days from (Tadcaster road) York, Uk to here in Dubai.

The thing is I need to pay the person also, and I prefer paying them on pickup of items and not through money transfer or otherwise.

Any suggestions on how I can do this?

I tried a lot of options but all adding up to be really expensive. Is anyone on here flying to the UK, york area , any time in the next month or so?

So I was wondering if anyone is travelling from UK (in general) to dubai in the next week or so? If yes, could you help me with this?

Ideally, if you can make the payment there in UK, so that when I come to pick up the items, I can pay you all the cost (15pounds) + courier (x amount pounds) + excess weight (x amount pounds) charge together in dirhams. Or if you like I can even pay in advance as well.

Have you considered shop & ship by aramex?
I'm sure it'll cost less than excess baggage (which is about 20GBP per kg for most airlines)
for an 8kg package, aramex will charge 489AED.
Excess baggage (assuming all 8Kg) will be more than 1100 AED...
Your source can send the package to an address in the UK and it will come here automatically.

I don't know many people willing to pick up an unidentified package for a stranger and take it on an airline with them!

no.. it wont be unidentified....

they will have to pick up the items unpacked and pack it themselves.
Its a pair of bookends and 1 or 2 statues

omg are you sure about the excess baggage thing?

In that case, I shall just call off the whole thing.... I didnt know excess baggage will cost so much..

Yes aramex will charge about 500, they already told me so. But now by the look of it I think I'll just forget all about it. Cant pay that much as excess baggage.
