I use the Canon G9 and Nikon P6000. Both are good. For me, P6000 wins for portability and ease of use as a snappy camera.
Hi there..I would like to buy a digital camera for normal home use to take family pictures & take it with me when traveling. I have done some window shopping but still cannot decide. Any help/hints ? Thanks

You want really compact with great manual controls and wonderful lens? Panasonic DMX-LX3 is great. Slightly larger? Canon sx200 is also a good choice. Smaller? Panasonix DMC-FX48. Entry level DSLR? Canon 500D.
Look at Shufflegazine June issue for LX3 review and July issue for Canon SX200 and 500D reviews.
I have Canon G9 and it's a very good camera. I looked at the G10 before buying the LX3 but the lens and the size decided in favor of the Panasonic.

I agree with Magnus. Panasonic DMX-LX3 is awesome. I love the retro look and the lense it has is actually is pretty amazing. But, I have a new love... Olympus E-P1. Its brand new too.
Thanks guys for your input... I assume neither Olympus, Panasonic or Canon would have the GPS thing for iphoto to locate the position correct ? I believe it would only work on iphone ...
Not built in, unfortunately. You can get it as an accessory, I am pretty sure.
Nikon Coolpix P6000 has a GPS receiver.
