So who wants Apple stuff from the US?

My sister is currently in the US. she's coming back on the 15th. If anyone whats anything SMALL (iPhone, Software, Shuffle, iPod...) or a MacBook Air / new MacBook let me know. She's in Cali so thats the sales tax applicable. you'll only pay what the receipt says.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Use her as a pack mule!

Pack mule... interesting We're going to US over Thanksgiving, so not too far away, and we're going to an Apple Store (of course). When it comes to Apple stores it's of course the things you know about that you might want to buy but it's also just looking at the variety of accessories and software they have available. You always end up buying something, even if it's another iPod case, game, or whatever. That's one of the nice things about walking into an Apple store.

This is an interesting thread for a slightly different reason:
I am on my way to Italy in a few weeks, and off the New Zealand in December. I have a number of cow-orkers that have been requesting that I buy them iPhones while I am abroad.

I am OK with doing this (I'm not trying to make money, these are my friends)... but I am nervous that if I bring back a suitcase with eight iPhones I might find myself in a rough spot at the airport when I return.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing- IE how many of particular item, namely an iPhone, can I bring back as gifts? I can't seem to find any good information online, with the exception of some documents regarding the process for Importers.

Seem to remember a friend of Chefmerrick went through something like this in Dubai, can't find the thread though.

Why would they confiscate it? I'd assume if you had the receipts, the worst case scenario would be they charge you import duty on them. Its not a banned product like a radar detector or something.

So what's the issue with importing Apple products in UAE?

I'm from the US. Do have stores that sell Apple products?

There are stores here (though not run by Apple), but prices are about 10-15% higher.
You can bring items in, only they expect personal usage in the airport.
So if they suspect its for business, they might not be happy.
But its not written in stone.

What about buying from Amazon or Ebay, is the price still inflated?
