New Microsoft Jerry Sienfeld Ad

You can see the new ad here.

I hope for Microsoft's sake its only a teaser.
Its kind of funny, but a useless ad.

Definitely not helping Gates' cheap image.
I'm sure they will be going after Apple's price premium.
It will be very stupid if they do.

There are overpriced PCs as well, like Sony, Voodoo, and Alien.
It will be hitting those smack in trackball.
And they will be missing the point why people and teens are willing to pay that premium.

I didn't quite get it, what this ad was intended to do. If it was supposed to make Bill seem nicer, Microsoft more friendly, Windows better than Linux and Mac, whatever, it's lost on me.

I know.
That's why I'm thinking its only a teaser.

At the moment, I'm wondering if the coriolis effect applies to money.

I came ot the forums to write about the same ad!!

come on M$ even ur ads sucks. r they missing the point of TV ads now??
then that slogan on the wall "Why pay more?" are they hinting to Mac? at least be honest people, those ads should be about Vista, and guess what Leopard is one third the price of Vista!!!

Hope the next ads be more clear and focusing on one point, cuz i was totally lost in this one (and im a techinical guy), think about kids in school or people who dont work in IT field!!

Medopal,
Thats not completly true.
Macs are generally more expensive.
More important...
You can't say Leopard is one third the price of Vice-ta.
There are like 5 price points for Vice-ta.

Mac hardware is expensive thats true, but M$ makes software so we r comparing software products.

XP is still selling for 99$ i think, and vista is way more higher, i think the ultimate reachs 400$, and lot of customers r complaining the different versions have only small differences.
so i think in average the Windows will still be more expensive. Any ideas about Office prices?

Actually its a series of MS ads and this is just the opening ad.

The concept is to change the "perception" of consumers towards MS and Windows. According to industry insiders, MS ultimate end game is to change how people see MS and Windows and not actually change the OS. The Get a Mac ads portray MS/PC as a hard to use, good for nothing, OS whose consumer base is filled with consumers who fear the switch to MAC OS because of the so called learning curve. The MS ads try to change that and focus more on perception, outlook, brand image of MS and Windows.

The next set of ads are said to be quite funny.

Note: Please do not perceive me to be a MS lover. hehehehe
