Nikon or Canon?

So this summer I will be getting a camera.. But I really don't know which one to get? The Nikon D60 or the Canon EOS 450D.. I have tried both and I was really happy with Nikons quality.. But I hear the people say Canon is much better.. So I really don't know, pretty confused. What do you guys think?

you may get a lot of reviews on the net favouring Canon over Nikon. But for me...Nikon anyday unless i'm getting the Canon eos 5D which is a damn good camera.

the 450D has EXCEPTIONAL results, i've used it and my frnd's still using it, it is EXCEPTIONAL
sorry2disagree with u shane, but Canon anyday over a nikon for me

Sony. Hands down. A sony cybershot anyday.

Realistically though, you'll be good with whatever you choose, since both are really good choices. Get the cheaper of the 2, or the one that you "cant live without."

the EOS450 is an SLR, im not sure about the Nikon... but if ur comparing the 2, then it presumre they're both SLRs i guess

If you're really serious about photography, the body doesn't matter much or which system it is. What matters more is the lenses you pick. Buy the cheaper body and spend the money on buying a better lens, if you really care about the best results.

Thank you all! and thank you Magnus for the great advice! Well, I went to DFC and checked them out both of 'em.. I am into photography, but you can still say I am new.. So, I think I'll be going over to the Nikon as I was more satisfied with the picture I took than the Canon one.. But still, I've got long time to make my final decission =P So anyone else wanna put something in? Please do =D

And oh yeah.. Blue >.> For some odd reason I never liked sony.. xD

I am not sure why you are comparing Nikon D60 and Canon EOS 450D, is it because both these are recently released?
Also check out Nikon D80, similar to EOS 450D price range. I would swear thats its the best camera in the world. but it has lens thread of Nikkor AF / F-mount, D-Type. (Wider range of lens one can use include cheaper Sigma type) Catch the dp rating www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare

Canon EOS 450 seems to have higher image resolution. But like Magnus said its the lens that makes the difference.

Recently I had my hands on Nikon D300. We were doing a low light shooting. That camera blew-me-away. Off course High-end camera are expensive and people who buy them make a living out of it.

I took this picture using my friends Nikon D40.. And just added Diffuse Glow using photoshop.
