I got for my 9 yr old daughter primarliy. She has had a good play with it today. I was holding out for the biger version but when you have a home network then how much storage do you need? I did have some probs with connecting wireless, connected with cable ok then got shit load of updates for everything then tried the wireless again and got it connected. I did a quick search about the wireless and it does seem to be regular occurance and it was advised to update. I have had bit of a go on it. The Mrs is interested also, but that keyboard is small!!! Okay for a 9 yr to type. Think I will also invest in a good sized SD card as it has one available as a drive. Also the father inlaw has company memory sticks so will try get some off him. When you plug somthing in it asks you which library you want to use it in, ie music, video or photo? So far am impressed, the price was a bit of hike but not bad still. Also us early adopters pay the price. LOL

It's early for this market, since they've just started arriving in stores. A few have been around I'm sure but bought from outside. I was at EON today looking at it and it's amazingly small and light. It seems pretty fast too. I might go back tomorrow...

Sharaf DG has the new 900 model of the eeePC for AED1999. I saw only the Linux 20GB version but there may have been the Windows XP option too. It sells on Amazon.com for around $550 which would be just about $2000. Last edited by Magnus : 6th July 2008 at 23:05.

Acer has introduced the Aspire One, very similar to the eeePC, runs a different flavor of Linux. Seems like Acer has a very strong presence here so perhaps they'll bring it in fast.
