arabic language problem with firefox & safari

    hi all ,
i've recently become a Mac user and i'm having some problems in arabic language
i've tried to check for a solution before porting but i saw that most of the problem are related to Ms Office which i don't have

i'm able to view arabic but not in all webpage parts (example:???? ??????? ???????? - ???? ??????? ????????) , checked the encoding and language settings but with no solution.

also when i'm trying to type in arabic i can't get the cursor to start from the right . is there a way to move it to switch between left and right ?

    info : OS : Mac OSX 10.5.8
    browser : Firefox 3.5.3

That page worked fine for me using both Safari and Firefox. (the flash slideshow had disconnected letters in both)
    All encoding formats worked fine.

Check Font Book and see if you have problems with your Arabic fonts.
Have you installed any new fonts?
How does it look in Safari?

As for RTL typing, this depends on the program.
However, as of Snow Leopard it is now part of the OS.
So any program that uses Apple's API now supports it.
If the program doesn't support RTL, then you will have to make due with right alignment.

yah the same thing in safari , it's only the flash slideshow in that website in specific , because i've tried searching from other websites that have flash designed with arabic letters they are showing fine . maybe i should be reporting to that web admin .

for the RLT typing . i was only checking for the webpages , because some websites they start from the right and some not . i was comparing acully with the windows feature to force the cursor to start from right woundering if there's the same feature in mac .

    thank you for your support

I am not aware there is any way to do that.
Normally that thing should be done by the web admin in the code.

As far as I know Microsoft Office for Mac is not Arabic compatible. It even installs some fonts that mess up Arabic for all other apps too.

any idea which fonts to be replaced or deleted.

I've spent my whole day yesterday trying to fix this problem with no use.
I'm movie alcoholic and I couldn't see any movie since I got the MAC due to the language support
