Majeed, any issues with Arabic in Safari or it has been solved?
Zaid, i deleted the fonts u told me about in the /system/library and from my home folder/library
still having the same problem.... weired...
anyways... am a bit tired to check it further today... will be doing that later tomorrow !
the files u were attaching were corrputed... 4kb only ?
Thanks for your concerns mate.
I have been told by Mac store guy, Drop the Font folder in your Document folder. and it will work!
The procedure I mentioned in earlier posts in this thread is tested literally heaps of times on many Macs.
MS office replaces the Arial and Times fonts with a queer set under the same names, but works well in the MS Office applications only. Safari on the other hand by default uses Times font that is able to display Arabic, and here is the issue MS Office fonts are not Arabic compatible.
Zaid, i managed to get safari displaying arabic normally, from Font Book.app I disabled all the Arial Fonts (wasnt sure which one i needed to disable) and disabled Times New Roman... and Horrey.... i can read arabic in Safari... i guess i still need to find a proper version of those fonts to re-installOriginally Posted by Zaid Al Hilali
Thanks for your support mate !
Glad I could help, I could send a replacement fonts, but as they exceed the attachment limit on this forum I must then send them by e-mail if you like.
Interesting thought that you use Apple's Font Book to manage your fonts.
If you want to send a large file to another person, yousendit.com works great.
to my knowledge, it is not possible to write in Arabic correctly using the current version of Office.
Pages works to an extent, it types correctly but you will have trouble with navigating through the text and placing the cursor in the right place.
in my research, i've found that Mellel is the best option for typing in Arabic.
there was an Emarati software company a while back that released a new Arabic word-processor and spreadsheet app, can't seem to find it
