Arrow Adobe Photoshop CS3 - Arabic Issues

Zaid Al Hilali this is probably a question for you more than anyone else.

A dear friend bought me Adobe Photoshop CS3 from amazon.com. It's not an ME version so I haven't opened it yet and it's still in all its original packaging.

Can someone tell me if I will be able to use Arabic font and script on it the same as ME? If not what can I do to 'install' the ME component and who do I talk to?

    Thanks!

    Glad to answer you mate

Although most if not all Adobe products accept plug-ins, and certainly the Arabic features added to each Adobe application is a plug-in, yet Winsoft sells Middle Eastern versions as full product and cannot be added to an International Adobe application version.

With the copy that you have in hand, you may use a free and very common solution. Just download ArPix Pro from Grapheast website, type your Arabic text in this tiny program, then use the copy button to copy text to clipboard then paste it into any non ME Adobe software.

Result text will retain all editable features, and you can even apply filters and effects as you do with latin text. Just keep in mind that you must use the 10 fonts that comes with ArPix Pro to be able to insert Arabic into non ME Photoshop.

Hopefully not.. I can't get ArPix to work. I've installed the fonts that come with the program, but the text I type shows up in the default font, and doesn't change when I choose new ArPix font. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

It used to be free, but not any more! It is still cheaper to get arPIX if you have the international Adobe version than buying Middle Eastern version. But remember arPIX is a limited solution, i.e. it is hard to create long publications by using arPIX in conjunction with Adobe products.
