Apple TV Purchases

I have an iTunes canada account and frequently use ATV to rent HD movies. I do not sync my itunes at all and stream everything. Since I'd never "bought" a TV show, I never noticed that the TV Shows sync option was checked.

A few days ago, I purchased Lost Season 5 from my apple TV. Immediately after downloading, the episodes were transferred to my MBP so now they reside on both devices.

The question I have is this:

If I now remove the sync option for TV shows, will they automatically be deleted from my ATV (even though I bought the series from my ATV device, not my MBP)?

And... If I delete them from my ATV once watched, will they be deleted from my MBP?

Ideally, I would like to watch them, and then delete them off my ATV to clear space for new downloads, but I would like to keep them on my MPB for my collection.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The trick to this is to control what is synced from the MBP.
For example, you can setup iTunes to sync unwatched shows.
This will sync anything u haven't watched and erase it when u do.

This only affects how they are synced to the ATV.
It won't erase them off the iTunes.
