Hackintosh??

Ever since i read about Hackintosh i have been curious about trying one for myself.

There are tons of websites which gives information on this. But i keep guessing which hardware should i have, since the hardware they say might not be available in the UAE market. Has anyone tried installing Mac OS X 10.5.5 on a PC. If anyone has, please let me know ur PC Specification.

Any sort of help will be appreciated.

Yeah!! I did read those. but its a netbook. Thats the easiest way possible. What i want to try is on a custom built PC and not a laptop or netbook.

You are better off checking out sites that are dedicated to that.
There is simply too much to discuss.
I don't think a few trials will be that helpful.

If you simply change 1 thing it might change the outcome in a totally different way.

I get your point.
Magnus' experience with the netbook is pretty much what you will be facing.
And I'm sure others have experience, and possibly will chip in soon.

But make sure you go to the specialized sites.

I got an HP Mini.
They were selling for dirt cheap at Jacky's.
1,100 AED for a 1.6 GHz VIA, 1GB, and 120 GB hard.

Obviously I can't have a Windows machine in my house

So I'm going to hackintoch it.

Does anybody have an external DVD drive I can borrow/rent?
I only need it to install the OS, so it seems a waste to go out and buy one.
Especially since the whole reason of this is that it was cheap.

I am looking into getting it on via USB thumb drive as well.

I did get a nice hackintosh out of my lenovo s10e. I feel this is the best netbook for running os x. I am amazed at the snappiness of os x on this machine. Everything works (with some workarounds though for ethernet and mic :-))

Would it be possible for me to install mac osx on my HP tablet pc.
if yes would my MBP osx cd work and what else would i require?

There might be a workaround.
But I doubt you find a good way to get the touchscreen working.

Thanks for the link.
No doubt the Lenovo is a better machine.
I wasn't planning on buying one.
But I couldn't resist it at that price.
I mean its cheaper than the iPod Touch 16GB!!
