maybe you could have a 'iphone buying & selling' forum inside the iphone section of the forum. There seem to be soooo many ads for iphones here.

Also the general buying and selling could cater to Mac desktops/laptops and accessories.

and maybe another one in 'around the watercooler' for buying and selling stuff thats not mac related?

The iPhone idea is worth considering, but I'm not sure it will make much difference. Those who post about selling iPhones are typically only here on the site to do just that, sell iPhones, so they don't care much about where they post. They see someone asking about iPhone, they will post there. And believe me if we weren't moderating such posts heavily things would be a lot worse.

Note that we're not just about people selling Mac-related things. We're an Apple User Group so as anything that's of interest to users of Apple equipment is okay as far as I'm concerned.

really? I know there are times I go into the 'selling' & 'buying' and get overwhelmed by the number of posts regarding iphones
you are right.. maybe later when this site becomes even bigger and you may have to split up the 'buying & selling' section to cater to the demand... you could split them into categories

I can understand that, but we do catch a lot of spammers basically before their posts are going "live". This is something we've had to live with since the first iPhone was released and we took the position that we should be pretty tough on the selling part to try to keep the site less cluttered.
