Yes, that's how it works, there's no way to keep it active all the time unless someone is logged in all the time, and that's not going to happen.

I think it's something we need to keep in mind and look at new solutions in the future. We have a chat solution but it's probably not the best solution. So let's not forget about it, but keep looking for something better.
