It's a GREAT GREAT idea, however a hard job..=P
Yeah..Go on, spread the word..=D Put it on Sept. issue of Shuffle..
hey guys, i can volunteer for this, if no one has been assigned this role yet. But, I am not a mac user, i am to be convert and hence you guys would need to send out the stuff to me, i can do the role of managing the disks and the list. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Thanks for the offer, that's very nice of you. Unfortunately I think without a Mac it'll be very hard to manage it since you'd have to have a Mac to try some software etc. The management aspect is important, but to do this without a Mac and for everyone to send you the things, that'll be hard I think.
Hey Guys,
I have pulled together a possible software list for opensource/freeware/shareware Software that might be of benefit to some of the community. How do you propose we go from here?
I was thinking of submitting the list for approval, and then what we need to do with regards to the cd-rom / dvd rom that we issue is that we provide an index file that allows people to see the contents of the cd/dvd and has a quick brief description of what the contents are. Then each app. is in its own folder and we have a how to along with screen shots for installation of each app.
What do you guys think ?

Sounds great Dan. Perhaps we can start with a Google Spreadsheet, with apps listed for different categories. Then we make it public and post a link here so people can suggest sw and comment on it. Then whoever ultimately takes on the role of keeper of our list can be the one keeping the spreadsheet up to date.
Hi Magnus,
Will transfer my list to a google spreadsheet and will then share with you.

Magnus,
I completely agree with you, but I wanted to do my bit, so was wondering if I could maintain the google spreadsheet and we could have a ftp server from where I could download and write onto dvds to distribute.
Will be buying a mac soon too. Let me know your thoughts on the same. Always willing to help.![]()
