Im in Abu Dhabi too, i have 2 mbps, and its good, i wont say its perfect though, download speeds are almost the same as noixe, 2 mega bits/sec is not bad it works very good for browsing specially with Firefox
, and for downloading i download movies at night, it takes few hours to get a 700 MB movie.
Thats talking about DSL, but u can get upto 7 mbps with wireless router, but u will need a dataplan, so not effective for a tech-support
, but im sure it will become cheaper with time.
You r saying u will come after 1 year, i think by that time it will be better, first Fiber-optics and second competition between etisilat and du (the 2 and only telecommunication companies)
