Skoburn is right on the money. You need to follow the install instructions,, and then run the EFI firmware update from applications > utilities. When this is installed you need to shutdown your apple. Once it has shutdown.

Hold down the power button until the power indicator light flashes, then release it. A long tone will be heard, then a gray screen with an Apple logo appears. There is a progress bar under the logo. As the progress bar moves, your firmware is being updated.

Do not stop, unplug, your apple whilst the update is being applied.
