I think u r focusing on WinFS aren't u? anyway, this was like a dream for Windows users, until M$ dropped it (at least in Vista) in 2006, when they announced its still in development!!!
Some other point to focus on, Windows 7 will be based on Vista which is based on XP, which is based on ME ... etc etc!!
There is nothing changing, the registry is still a bad idea, the dll-hell is still a large fail!!
They really should think of remaking the core things, forget the interface u can make a good interface in months (or u can just rip-off one
), but people want to see large changes, wants to see features!!! something like Macs Core-animation or user permissions
