This has been troubling me for months. And when I say months, its partially due to the fact that I haven't had time or know where to take it for fixing.
I received my Macbook Pro as a gift in summer 2006, when it first released. It worked like a charm for about a year until I started adding FCS, Adobe CS2, Macromedia and a bunch of RAM-eating apps. It was slow, but still worked.
That's when the freezing started. It just hangs every three-5 seconds unless I move my mouse or unplug something. This can be very annoying when I'm listening to iTunes (interrupted songs) or using the above mentioned apps.
It was suggested that I format and do a clean install of Mac OSX but to do that I'd have to keep moving the mouse for 10hours continuously!!! (I gave up after an hour).
