I see this as the beginning of the end...
The open source world, much like mother nature has a way of correcting things. Chances are that you will get a whole bunch of people behind Psystar, and you will start to see open source repositories for OSX patches.
Apple has rubbed a lot of open source people and security people the wrong way, and it might just be enough to start the open apple revolution.
The patch upgrade mechanism is already there - fink. You will just need to add some open source repositories for patches, and that will be it. Apple has opened a lot of its source code up for developers etc who agree to the licensing.
