Isn't the HDD in a macbook a user replaceable part?
If so, can't you just take out the bad hdd, get your data off it thru a specialist, and then buy a new hard disk instead on your own rather then from the service center at almost half the price quoted to you. I assume your machine should yet be under the warranty coverage.
Also have you tried MORE computers in Dubai? I have had a friend who had a hdd beyond repair as well, and those people were able to yet recover the data for him.
